The Australian Business Register (ABR) is a nationwide database of all the registered businesses and other organisations of Australia who register for an Australian business number (ABN). The ABR helps government agencies to develop better strategies for understanding businesses by using the information which are provided by the businesses and other organisations while registering. Once you register your business, it become part of the ABR. So, if there are changes in your ABN i.e. address, main business activity, entity type, contact details, associate details, you need to update that in your ABN. As a result, your ABR will be updated.

It is your responsibility to maintain your details so that other agencies or government can provide important community services based on your information. You must update your details within 28 days if there is any change. In order to update your registration details, the fastest way is to update using your AUSkey. You can also update your details over phone by calling ABR at 139 226.
